The censoring of the female nipple is a strange thing, because we’ve all seen it before. Seriously, 97% of us, at least. We all see nipples, essentially from the time we’re birth. Sure, some of us might go through a phase, from the end of breastfeeding till we’re able to use the internet, where we don’t see breasts. Even then, that phase typically doesn’t last more than a few years. These are non-sexual organs that have been made sexual by a woman-shaming society. With many people claiming that we’ve reached gender equality, or even that we’re striving towards it, we must pose the important question of why femme-nips are still rated R while dude-nips are rated G.
No, I probably won’t personally take advantage of the nipple-freeing once it comes about, but I’m a DD cup. That shit needs scaffolding or it’s just annoying. However, I truly believe that there is no good reason to keep up with this censoring insanity. Since no reason is good, I’ve tried to at least find some reasons that make sense. Not that they’re valid, they aren’t, but they could be the reasons that we’re stuck in this unbalanced state. Enjoy!
The Literal End Of “What Were You Wearing?” Justification
All sensible feminists know that the question “What were you wearing?” is completely inappropriate when used to victim-shame those who report sexual assault. That’s a point we’ve hammered home again and again, yet the question still hasn’t been eliminated from the discussion, not totally. Well, there’s no doubt that by freeing all the nipples, and asserting the right for them to be freed, victim shamers would be in a much tougher position. Freeing the nipples acknowledges that women are not just sexual objects and that anyone who sees them as such is the problem. The outfit is not the problem, the arsehole who objectifies to the point of violence is.
Big Business Interference
Past gun laws have failed to pass, even those that most gun-owners can agree upon, for one big reason: bought politicians. The gun manufacturers fight the legal system with their money, no matter the body count that racks up higher every year. They protect themselves at the cost of our safety and wellbeing. What’s another industry that does well no matter the economy, trends, and changing times? Women’s undergarments. Brasieres are complex, and viewed by many as necessities. But that could all change. Currently, Victoria’s Secret is a money-making machine. They have high-quality merchandise, so nothing in that store comes at a meager price. I would not at all be surprised if Victoria’s Secret starts making donations to the campaigns and lifestyles of various politicians once and nipple-freeing legislation is announced.
The What Next-ers
We all know the what next-ers. They take one social advancement, such as gay marriage, and link it to something unrelated to the issue and more absurd, such as humans marrying animals. To a what next-er, any change in the status quo is a cause for alarm. When you think about it, theirs is truly a sad life to lead. For a what next-er, the obvious next step after freeing the nipple would be to allow full nudity in all public places. What next-ers have a lot of anxiety, which most likely extends to how they feel about their bodies. Nudity on all sides would lead them to become very self conscious and sad, so they would do anything to stop this clear eventuality of nipple-freeing from happening. They would do anything to avoid being surrounded by penises much larger than theirs, so they make sure to protest all Free The Nipple movements. (Yes, that penis thing is mean, but if you actually liken gay marriage to marrying animals then you deserve to be called out in a way that bashes the hetero-masculinity that you care about so much.)
The sexist school dress codes, the social stigma for women to hide their bodies, it has all been illuding to one important fact. Apparently, many men can’t cope with the female body. If having it exposed in any way renders them unable to do schoolwork, then clearly we’re dealing with the equation for female domination. If we free the nipples, the patriarchy will die. The matriarchy will rise. Legions of straight men who apparently are helpless in the presence of the female form will become underlings. Their power will drain away, making nipples the kryptonite of the hetero-dude race. They’ll have their uses, sure, and those among them who are able to be fine and normal in the presence of tits will remain in their same positions. Unfortunately, anyone who is greatly distracted by these standard human organs will probably fall far lower on the food chain than they were before. If this is the future, I understand the venomous push to keep the nipples caged. It won’t hold out in the long run. We will have victory, probably before I die, but I understand their drive.
This was a fun one, I enjoyed writing it. Have a great week!
